Summer Workshop Diary

The workshop subjects apply to all age groups and will be altered on age and ability.

Please complete the application form at the bottom of this page. 

MONDAY 6th AUGUST

10am - 12pm - Self Portraits, using a range of mediums, pencils, oil pastels and charcoal.

1pm -3pm -  Native American, exploring the importance of their symbolism and creating a personal representation, using mediums of their choice. 

THURSDAY 9TH AUGUST

10am - 12pm -  Explore and expand your own forum, using light refraction as a base. This is about experimenting with different textures, developing an idea and creating it, using the natural light around you. 

1pm - 3pm - TBC

MONDAY 13TH AUGUST

10am -12pm -  Still Life. Learning the importance of interpretation, the individuals interpretation, to create a unique still life. The perfection of inperfection

1Pm - 3pm -  Aboriginal Art, exploring the meanings of the artwork they produced and having a lot of fun creating your own, with choice of mediums. 

THURSDAY 16TH AUGUST

10 am - 2pm - Mosaic, creating a mosaic using various materials and set on a piece of wood, possibly reclaimed or as natural as possible, so the wood is part of it not that the child thinks they have to cover the whole surface.

1pm - 3pm - TBC

MONDAY 20TH AUGUST

10am -12pm - Perspectives and the use of light. Using charcoal, pastels and oil pastels, a fun filled workshop on this subject. 

1am - 3pm - Aztec Art. Making an individual representation of this art form and discussing its beauty. Variety of mediums to produce and individual piece. 

THURSDAY 23RD

10am - 2pm - Landscapes. Producing landscapes without paintbrushes, blowing through straws, using leaves, flowers, fingers as the brushes instead. Alternative paint brushes.

1pm - 3pm - TBC

MONDAY 27TH AUGUST

10am -12pm - Buildings and Structures. Looking at and encouraging children to see the beauty of a building and creating a piece with ripped paper and collage. 

1pm - 3pm -  African Art.  Producing artwork from each country and tribe, the connection with others is deepened and understanding of various cultures. Variety of mediums used to create a colourful representation of this art form. 

THURSDAY 30TH AUGUST

10 am - 12pm - Dot drawing. Creating a drawing using only dots, with a variety of tools to create differeent sizes and textures to the piece.

1pm - 3pm - TBC
